Healthy Habit Stacking

Healthy Habit Stacking

As we continue to step into the beginning of a new year, filled with aspirations and resolutions, it's essential to consider the sustainability of the healthy habits we aim to cultivate. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting an Instagram Stamina Live session with Health Coach Carrie Best, an Integrative Health Coach and Nutritionist, where we delved into the importance of maintaining and strengthening these habits throughout the year. Here are the key insights shared to help you embark on a journey of wellness and fulfillment.

Redefining Resolutions:

Rather than viewing wellness goals as lofty New Year's resolutions, Coach Carrie encourages breaking them down into sustainable practices. By focusing on manageable chunks and avoiding overwhelm, we pave the way for long-term success. This approach shifts the narrative from short-lived resolutions to enduring healthy lifestyle changes.

Understanding the Significance of Healthy Habits:

Healthy habits serve as the cornerstone of our overall well-being. They encompass various aspects of our lives, from nutrition and physical activity to rest and mental clarity. By nurturing these habits, we not only enhance our health but also fortify our resilience in facing life's challenges.

  • The EARN System: Coach Carrie introduced the EARN system - Eat well, stay Active, Rest and Recover, Now everything and everyone else, so be mindful. This framework emphasizes the importance of prioritizing self-care to nurture our health and happiness. By following a structured routine that includes regular nourishment, movement, and relaxation, we lay the foundation for holistic well-being.

  • Establishing Sustainable Habits with Vision: To integrate healthy behaviors into our daily lives, it's crucial to establish clear goals and commit to structured routines. Whether it's scheduling regular meals or incorporating physical activity into our day, CONSISTENCY IS the KEY! Start with removing one bad habit and adding one good habit per month to strengthen balance, making it manageable, and reinforcing confidence and habit building.

  • Embracing Progress over Perfection: Wellness is not a sprint but a marathon, and it's essential to celebrate progress rather than dwell on setbacks. Racing towards or introducing too many healthy habits at the same time, can lead to crushing wellness fatigue or overwhelm. By focusing on gradual improvements and cultivating self-compassion, we foster a positive mindset conducive to long-term growth. Remember, every step forward, no matter how small, brings us closer to our goals. Similar framework applies to skin care. Simplify to amplify! Start with simple habits of sunscreen in the morning and gentle cleanser and moisturizer at night and then build upon it over time to achieve best skin care goals.

  • Nurturing Gut Health for Mind-Body and Skin Balance: The intricate connection between gut health and mental well-being highlights the importance of nourishing our bodies from within. By prioritizing clean eating and incorporating gut-friendly foods, we support our physical and emotional vitality. As Coach Carrie aptly suggests, detoxifying our bodies through exercise and wholesome nutrition sets the stage for optimal wellness. Gut-skin connection is also very clear. The healthier the gut lining, the better the skin reflects that radiant glow.
  • The Power of Self-Love and Support:

Building sustainable habits requires not only self-love but also a strong support system. Surrounding ourselves with mentors, friends, or professionals who keep us accountable and champion our journey can make all the difference. By sharing our challenges and victories with others, we cultivate a sense of camaraderie that fuels our motivation and resilience. Currently, many tweens and teens noticed the connecting value of doing a skincare regimen together. Especially in the evening, it's an opportunity to reduce stress, to brighten a stamina skin glow, and chat/catch-up with friends on FaceTime while exchanging skin care notes.

Mind Hacks to Help Habits Stick:

There are certain mind hacks which help to enhance healthy habit consistency. You can find many of these in the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear . Here are some of Dr. MBK, our founder’s favorites: habit stacking (for instance, brush teeth and apply sunscreen combo every morning, and brush teeth and moisturizer combo every night), 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins, have alternative plans if schedule changes, which often happens in professional parents' lives.

    Embracing the Journey:

In the pursuit of wellness, it's essential to find joy in the process. By infusing intentionality into our daily rituals and embracing self-care as a form of self-expression, we create a sustainable lifestyle that aligns with our values and aspirations. Check out our Integrative Skin Care, Stamina Synergy to integrative mindful components and wellness as part of your skin care ritual and skin-care and wellness habit stacking. This integrative approach to skin care helps with skin stress reduction and optimizes skin balance along with our skin resilience building skin care line up.  Remember, it's not about perfection but progress.

As we embark on this journey of wellness and self-discovery, let's prioritize self-care, celebrate our successes, and embrace the beauty of transformation. Together, we can cultivate sustainable habits that nourish our mind, body, and soul, paving the way for a fulfilling and vibrant life.
