Our founder, Dr. Marianna Blyumin-Karasik, shares her top 5 skin tips for your best skin!
Step 1: Don't skip the cleanser
Clean skin is healthy skin, and is the foundation for other skincare products to follow. Choose a cleanser that is appropriate to your skin type. Skin Balance is the key. If your skin is dry, use a creamy cleanser that delivers hydration. If your skin is oily, use a gentle gel-based cleanser to help balance sebum without stripping the precious skin barrier.
Step 2: You are what you eat
The food you eat plays a direct role in healthy, glowing skin. Be sure to eat lots of leafy greens, drink plenty of water for skin hydration, and avoid processed foods and refined sugars. Too much sugar can cause glycation and lead to premature signs of aging. We recommend drinking one liter of water each day.
Step 3: Mitigate the maskne and acne
While we are still using masks each day, friction, skin irritation, and skin blemishes remain problematic. Add a daily dose of hypochlorous acid and soothing botanicals to your routine to see an almost immediate improvement in redness and radiance! Other occlusives like heavy or greasy make-up or multi-layered skin care can also lead to clogged pores skin breakouts.
Step 4: SPF and lightweight moisturizer
Using sunscreen every day is the key to maintaining healthy, youthful skin for the long-term. Using an SPF 30 or higher broad-spectrum sunscreen will prevent UVA and UVB damage and prevent the premature appearance of photoaging and dark spots. Also use a lightweight moisturizer to reinforce skin barrier daily. This way your skin stays strong, beautiful and healthy.
Step 5: Balance = resilience and skin glow!
Balance in life is the key to keeping the stress hormone, cortisol, in check. Cortisol causes inflammation in the body and in the skin. A stressful day usually shows up on the skin the following day, and over time, this can worsen and accelerate the signs of aging. A balanced lifestyle builds resilience and helps restore skin's healthy glow! Check out our #doseofstamina and Integrative Skin Care advice to discover more life balance.
